I
was born in Australia and had the opportunity to come to the
UK in 1983. Like so many Australians who visit the UK, the original
plan was to come here, do the work I had been contracted to
do, look around the UK and visit relatives in Europe, then head
back when my time was up ... Within 6-month of being in the
UK I met the man who was to become my husband, and so a new
chapter of my life began...
1984
& 1986 I studied for a non-certificated BSc in
Micro-Electronic Engineering at CTC an Annex of Kingsway College,
London. On my graduation from CTC, I was employed by IBM UK
as a customer service repair engineer. I navigated my career
progression from IBM through other IT sector companies and I
worked my way up to to Corporate Systems Design Engineer, over
a 5-year period. My time at IBM gave me a unique understanding
not only of computer technology in terms of hardware and software
platforms. I also received a wealth training; all of which have
proved invaluable, as I have developed and my portfolio career
has moved forward.
1991:
Was an interesting year personally and professionally - Professionally
I was faced with a decision many career women are faced with...
"my career or my family"... I chose my family,
over a high-powered corporate career and returned to CTC in a
teaching/mentoring capacity for a year before starting my consultancy
in 1992. On a personal level I made a conscious decision to be
"in the world, but not of it" and started experimenting
with what I call the Third Way...
1992
- 2004: My
business saw a boom in growth and diversity of service. The consulting
arm of the business took a shift in direction and became more
of a training, marketing agency. The Training agency had two branches:
-
Social
Care... In 1996 this branch of activity resulted in my securing
an ECR contract from the North Thames Regional Health Authority
for a handful of clients with long-term and protracted mental
health difficulties.
-
Mentoring Professionals and Executives through the cross-roads
moments of their career development, both nationally and internationally.
I
published a book on self-development, set up a design label which
towards the end of this period saw exports to Japan, Russia, Italy
and the USA... Designed jewelry, tattoos and fashion accessories.
2004:
The needs of my family called for relocation from London. In the
final eventuality an opportunity presented itself to moved to
Westcliff, in the Borough of Southend-on-Sea. 2004 was also pivotal
for the following breakthroughs:
-
I decided that all my interests needed to be brought together
under one roof from an enterprise perspective and commenced
the filtering and consolidation process.
-
I arrived at my theoretical solution to the problem of Global
Warming and Climate Change after 18+ years of analysis of
the available research (mostly secured from UNFCC)
2006-2008:
I was invited to Project Manage The
Pi Community Art Project. This was a monumental
task, which was undertaken in full as a Pro-Bono Project... I
returned to education and was successfully enrolled to commence
my Post Graduate studies in Creative Industries Management. I
launched CrEsCo-East with the support of my PGC cohort and was
invited to attend as a delegate and Guest Panelist the 8th
International Entrepreneurship Forum - Ahmedabad,
India.
2009:
Stared with an explosion of activity ... over the holidays I had
time to think and digest and this resulted in an idea based in
recent experience, knowledge gained through my studies, my involvement
in the Pi Project it all fell into place and with the support
of my associate and former lecturer Suzanne
Mulvehill we initiated a new international project
"3 Way Split". In May 2009, the project had developed
sufficiently to enter into its incubation phase.
2010:
The 3 Way Split Project had its International Launch
in Lake Worth at a business conference event hosted by the Lake
Worth Chamber of Commerce, The Finish-American Chamber of Commerce
and the Lake Worth Sister City Board.
2011:
The 3 Way Split Project produces its first series of events in
Southend on Sea: Events included: Welcoming Reception for USA
Visitors to Southend, 2-days Business / Cultural Tourism Development
Conference and the 1st Southend Street Painting & Festival
of the Arts...
